Looking for the perfect sledding hill this winter? Here are three parks well worth checking out the next time it snows in Connecticut.
East Rock Park
Encompassing more than 425 acres in New Haven and a southern portion of Hamden, East Rock Park is home to one of the city’s favorite sledding spots. Located off of Davis Street at the northern end of the park, North Meadow is where locals go when it snows. Here you’ll find a sledding hill for all ages. East Rock park is also home to Trowbridge Nature Center, playgrounds, walking trails, ball fields and more. Learn more about East Rock Park.
Edgerton Park
If you’re looking for a hill that’s friendlier for younger sledders, Edgerton Park is your next stop. Set on the Hamden-New Haven border, Edgerton Park offers that smaller hill that’s perfect for the sledder who’s just learning to slide. Learn more about Edgerton Park.
Hamden Town Center Park
Not only is Hamden Town Center Park home to Josh’s Jungle, one of the best playgrounds in our region and home to the annual Silverbells Holiday Festival, it’s also home to a really great sledding hill. Located at 2751 Dixwell Avenue in Hamden, the sledding hill at Hamden Town Center Park is perfect for all ages, but it’s also exceptionally popular so be sure to get there early.
